Meet Jigisha, a. k. a Jigi

Jigisha is not your typical college counselor. She is a strategic coach behind the success of many young achievers globally. With over a decade of experience, she has successfully coached high school graduates, new career seekers, and executives to identify and pursue their next steps. She does this with infectious energy and an outcome-oriented focus on each of her clients in discovering their path forward.

Passion

Jigisha is constantly looking to help people find value and make meaning from their learnings. She finds joy in unlocking the full potential of humans around her. She enjoys creative problem-solving and has built award-winning teams for international competitions - Destination Imagination & Odyssey of the Mind.

Philosophy

When you are at the crossroads of finding your future, you are often overwhelmed, confused, and rushed. Jigisha believes in teaching how to pause, reflect, identify, plan, and follow through. To her, every step in this process counts. She ensures that her clients gain clarity about their education or career through her coaching process.

Approach

Jigisha has a way of helping people work through complex endeavors. With her ability to foster collaboration, productive engagement, and belonging, she opens people up to their potential like no other. She does this with a proven scientific method. Using the Birkman Assessment, she understands a student’s unique interests, strengths, needs, and stress responses. By being part of every step, she ensures that her students have chosen unique paths leading to success by utilizing their full capacity.

Achievements

Jigisha’s forte is to connect high school students with a college of their calling. She has successfully placed students in colleges they may not have thought of and those that align best with the child’s potential. .

Community

It takes a village to raise a child, they say. That village is possible only when humans like Jigisha come together. She actively serves on several committees in the Fort Bend Independent School District.

Background

Jigisha holds a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA, a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Diploma in Design. As a Professional Certified Coach, Jigisha helps students navigate some of their most important decisions about their future.

Little Known Facts

Being fluent in 5 languages, Jigisha connects with people around her naturally. Not sure how to start a conversation with her? Just ask her anything about coffee. If you’re new to Houston, she can point you to the best brews in town!

She lives in Sugar Land, TX, with her 2-year-old fur baby, Gobi, who is the center of her life. Her two cherished kids and her loving spouse, who also happens to be her childhood sweetheart, are her source of joy. Her home and garage are always bustling with creative activities as she nurtures and guides her Destination Imagination team with creativity, fostering both problem-solving skills and endless enjoyment.
